Each year, hundreds of women from the Brazos Valley join together for a night of fun, fashion and food at the Power of the Purse event, benefiting the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center. In it’s fifth year, Power of the Purse’s aim is to lessen the financial burden of families seeking treatment for Autism and other Disabilities at the center by offering a wide variety of designer purses, jewelry, and exciting packages that are up for auction to attendees.
Built in 1957 by a group of local citizens, the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit outpatient treatment facility dedicated to helping those with disabilities lead an independent life regardless of their ability to pay for services.
BVRC provides a wide array of services and therapies for its’ clients. From physical therapy and sensory integration therapy to treatment for strokes and Muscular Distrophy and Autism, their caring team is highly qualified to meet the needs of the Bryan/College Station area and beyond.
Governed by a local Board of Directors and Advisory Council who are purely volunteers, BVRC also has a Medical Advisory Board staffed with local physicians who are able to offer sound medical advice to their patients as well as oversee and assist in quality review. With a Medical Director who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, BVRC is able to create an overall rehabilitation plan for each patient. From Speech Therapy to the Autism Clinics, BVRC has a wide range of programs to assist local patients get superior care regardless of the ability to pay.
This year’s event will be held on March 28th at the College Station Hilton Hotel. With an expected 400 guests, it’s sure to be a spectacular evening! Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance! Every year we choose a select group of models and this year we have chosen our Veterans! Be on the look out for photos to give you a sneak peek at these Heroes and the lavish handbags they will be modeling! We will have a live and silent auction and delicious food and beverages. You will enjoy laughs and networking with lots of lovely ladies!

David Gardner’s has donated a luxurious Rolex Watch for a raffle. Tickets are on sale now for $20 each or 6 for $100!
